Assistant Delivery Manager OverviewThe Assistant Delivery Manager will assist the Delivery manager with delivery and warehouse operations in the assigned location. This position will help with managing, scheduling, routing, unloading, staging, and inventory processes. The cornerstone of UST’s growth and success is built upon the expectation that EVERY team member will Execute Excellence Every time - simply known internally as E3.
Compensation: $58,000-$64,500
Responsibilities(include, but are not limited to)
- Acts asmanager on duty when the Delivery Manager isabsent
- Assists Delivery Managermonitorweekly reports to ensure financialobjectivesare beingmet
- Assists Delivery Managermonitorweekly settlements to ensure contractors' goals are being achieved
- Assists Delivery Manager to ensure all operations areoperatingin compliance with DOT and OSHA requirements
- Assists the delivery department in accomplishing delivery and quality standards
- Communicates with stores, customers,contractors and Market Management daily
- Conducts ride behind and evaluations of contractors todetermineskill levels and development opportunities
- Coordinates with customer service to ensure that all customers are satisfied
- Ensures all claims are charged back to theappropriatedriver
- Ensures that maintenance of all delivery and service vehiclesarecompleted
- Ensures the scheduling department achieves all daily shipping goals
- Establishes andmaintainsa positive working relationship with all team members and other store personnel
- Manages routing team to include cost control and efficiency
- Overseesaccurateand efficient loading of all vehicles for the delivery of retail home products to the end consumer (last mile)
- Oversees the warehouse and inventory control processes to ensure the inventory’s integrity is maintained
- Ability to work a schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays
- High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Possess effective written and verbal communication
- Previous experience in Warehouse or Distribution operations
- Valid Driver’s License
