CNC Machinist – Structural Steel

Ashland, VA Job Type: Full-Time Shift: 1st Shift Starting Pay: $20.00/hour (higher based on experience)

We are seeking a CNC Machinist with structural steel fabrication experience to operate CNC machinery and produce accurate steel components. The ideal candidate can read technical drawings, work with hand and power tools, and troubleshoot equipment in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment, including combination mill/lathe and drill line machines
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
• Machine and assemble structural steel components using hand and power tools
• Make machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and production quality
• Inspect completed parts against design and structural specifications
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic machine maintenance
• Enter production information and maintain records in Global Shop (ERP)
• Work with team members to maintain safe and efficient shop operations

Requirements

• Structural steel fabrication experience required
• Experience operating CNC equipment, specifically combination mill/lathe and drill line machines
• Ability to accurately read blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Strong computer skills;
  Global Shop or similar ERP experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
