WhatYou’ll Do
As a Duct Mechanic, you’ll take the lead on installing and fabricating sheet metal ductwork for HVAC systems on commercial and residential projects. You’ll ensure quality craftsmanship, mentor apprentices, and maintain safety and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities- Measure, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork according to specifications
- Perform layout and installation of required materials and equipment for HVAC systems
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure compliance with building codes and manufacturer guidelines
- Collaborate with foremen and project managers to meet deadlines and quality standards
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and helpers
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper care of tools
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
High school diploma or GED; HVAC trade school preferred
Skills and Abilities- 3+ years of experience in duct fabrication and installation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal tools and equipment
- Ability to pass a background and drug pre-employment screening
- U.S. work authorization
- Excellent time management and leadership skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
- Work in hot and cold weather conditions
- Operate in open work areas with intermittent excessive noise
- Ability to work in a shop and construction environment
