- Deliverhands-on, field-based training on the operation of petroleum tank wagons, including pre-trip inspections, coupling/uncoupling, and emergency procedures.
- Instruct drivers onsafe loading and unloadingof petroleum products at terminals and customer sites.
- Demonstrate proper use of hoses, grounding equipment, vapor recovery systems, and spill prevention tools.
- Conduct ride-alongs andon-the-job evaluationsto assess driver performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Lead classroom sessions covering DOT, OSHA, EPA, and company-specific safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of training materials and SOPs.
- Support incident investigations and provide retraining as needed.
- Travel frequently to various company locations and training sites.
- Overnight stays may be required depending on training schedules and locations.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in petroleum transportation or fuel delivery.
- Valid CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
- Certified Trainer or Instructor credentials (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Proven ability to train and mentor drivers in both classroom and field environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel extensively and stay overnight as needed.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and telematics systems.
