Truck Driver CDL A OTR Solo

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Ashland, VA. This role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a rewarding driving career.

• $1700 or more per week
• Solo Miles Pay: $0.59 per mile (2000 – 2500 miles per week)
• Van Stops Pay: $16.37 per stop + $107.56 per dry‑van unload
• Average 8–10 stops per week
• Rolling Stop Pay: $28.20
• Safety Bonus: $250 four times a year (every quarter)
• Loyalty Bonus: $2000 at 6 months and $2000 at 1 year
• Paid training

• Deliver SOLO to:
  North Dakota to Texas, all eastern states, and Canada
• Tractor: slept‑ins with APUs
• Trailer:
  Dry van and Conestoga experience preferred
• Companion policy: bring a person and/or pet on the road
• Load securement: strapping
• Freight handling: touch‑hand unloading required
• Freight type: commercial and residential garage doors
• Endorsements: passport within 90 days of hire

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including last 3 years of employment verification)
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards and maintain accurate records and logs
• Load and unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by the customer
• Perform other duties as assigned
