Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Class B CDL Truck Driver in Ashland, VA offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Driver Position Details

• Pay: $25.25 per hour (paid weekly)
• Hours:
  
  40–45 hours per week
• Schedule:
  
  Monday – Friday; start time varies
• Paid training included
• Route:
  Home daily in surrounding areas
• Tractor type:
  Straight truck
• Freight:
  Touch – Medical Supplies; heavy touch required
• Equipment:
  Pallet jack, stair walkers, forklifts
• TWIC card preferred; reimbursement offered

• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations and agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs
• Load and unload freight or assist as required by customer
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass Ryder drug test, background and motor vehicle check, DOT physical, and road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A or Class B verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle
• Experience:
  
  9 months within past 3 years, or 2 years within last 5 years, or 5 years within last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures

Additional Screening Requirements

• Some positions may require employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, additional road test, or customer‑specific background checks
