Location

Ashland, VA – Weekday Shift. The role is based in the Ashland, Virginia Distribution Center and is full‑time, Monday‑Thursday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm (plus overtime).

Overview

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for leading the assigned warehouse department, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, driving continual process improvement, and supporting the Operations Manager. The role coordinates warehouse associate duties, communication, reporting, and area‑based projects, conducts root‑cause analysis, and maintains relevant departmental reports.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the performance of health enthusiasts, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Connect with each health enthusiast daily, maintaining visibility and approachability.
  • Create an energizing work environment by displaying a positive attitude, sharing appreciation, celebrating milestones, providing recognition, and reinforcing training.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and issues, escalating key matters to HR or Operations Management when necessary.
  • Conduct department activities that keep health enthusiasts connected and informed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and represent the Vitamin Shoppe brand.
  • Support teamwork and communicate performance results (UPH, quality, safety, attendance) to the team.
  • Hold health enthusiasts accountable for achieving warehouse goals and objectives.
  • Ensure health enthusiasts have necessary equipment, supplies, and manage daily distribution and return of supplies.
  • Execute daily kickoff meetings and provide company and warehouse communication.
  • Prepare and maintain departmental reports, spreadsheets, and resolve recurring business issues.
  • Supervise scheduling processes to meet criteria and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal partners on projects, evaluate deliverables, identify roadblocks, and recommend alternative solutions.
  • Assume additional duties and responsibilities as required to meet warehouse goals.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and good judgment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise the activities of health enthusiasts, including performance evaluation, coaching, and development.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access).
  • 1–2 years of experience in warehouse operations; customer service experience is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates across vertical and horizontal lines.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages and apply basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule instructions.
  • Ability to multi‑task with extreme attention to detail.
