Construction Equipment Operator - Asphalt Paving

Ashland, WI

Under the direction of the foreperson, paving equipment operators will be responsible for operating several types of road construction equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The equipment may include, but is not limited to: asphalt paver, paver screed, steel drum roller, rubber tire roller, skid steer, shaping tractor, power broom, and plate tampers. On‑job training will provide the knowledge and skills to become a productive member of one of our crews with potential for advancement opportunities.

This position is a full‑time seasonal role, working May through November (weather permitting). It requires overtime and some Saturdays. Local and regional travel opportunities are available.

Operate and maintain paving equipment safely and efficiently, following Company safety programs and policies.

• One or more years operating road construction equipment, or a technical school degree in Heavy Equipment Operation (primarily).
• Experience operating asphalt paver, paver screed, steel drum roller.
• Minimum age 18.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) if required.
• Physical ability to work in all seasonal weather and environmental conditions in a moving highway work zone.
• Ability to listen, take direction from others, be a team player, and help train less experienced employees.
