- Friday; 3:00 - 6:00 PM WAGE: $15.00/hour

Summary:

With the help of the After School Program Coordinator, After School Program Activity Leads will implement educationally enriching programming for kids from pre-K to 5th grade in order to improve social, emotional and academic learning. Individuals interested in filling the Activity Lead position should be passionate about working with children, planning programs and implementing programs as well as being open to continual education and growth.

Responsibilitites:

* Support youth in improving social-emotional learning and academic performance.

* Help youth create a sense of belonging.

* Model healthy conflict resolution.

* Model healthy communication.

* Assist with planning a variety of lessons(place based; play based; inquiry based etc etc) Implementation of the After School Program.

* Manage interpersonal conflicts.

* Communicate to Program Director areas of support and other needs.

* Complete minor cleaning tasks such as sweeping and picking up classrooms at the end of the day.

* Implement after school programming.

* Assist in the creation of after school programming.

* Work as part of a team.

* Be physically active for extended periods of time.

* Work with children ages 4-11.

* Provide academic tutoring and enrichment, recreational and cultural programs for youth aged 5 to 11 in after school setting under the direction of site supervisor.

* Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

* On track to graduate

* 16 years or older

* Pass district background check

Preferred Qualifications:

* Degree or completing degree in outdoor education, education, or another related field.

* Previous experience working with kids.

* Previous experience with program implementation and design.

* Any other qualifications the Board of Education may deem necessary or desirable.
