Overview
Northwood Technical College is seeking applications from qualified candidates for a full-time Associate Dean of Business, I.T., and Family & Consumer Services at our Ashland campus.
The Associate Dean of Business, I.T., and Family & Consumer Services is an academic position that works collaboratively with all areas of the college to facilitate student success and is actively engaged in the community to advance Northwood Tech's mission. The Associate Dean of Business, I.T., and Family & Consumer Services supports the Dean of Business, I.T., and Family & Consumer Services to ensure selected operational matters and related faculty development are achieved.
This position may be assigned to coordinate district-wide Academic Affairs activities or projects and may be assigned other duties as needed. The Associate Dean of Business, I.T., and Family & Consumer Services supervises faculty assigned to these program areas.

- Recruit, hire, supervise, and onboard faculty
- Manage and coach Business, I.T., and Family & Consumer Services faculty
- Facilitate student evaluation of instruction
- Assist in resolving student issues
- Monitor faculty participation in required professional development
- Facilitate TSA & Program Review as assigned
- Coordinate scheduling
- Manage grants and special projects as needed
- Implement strategic plans
- Collaborate with the Dean to develop internal relationships within Northwood Tech, including, but not limited to, Continuing Education, General Studies, Marketing, Scheduling, and other departments, and divisions in the district
- Participate in budget planning and implementation
- Assist with procurement and major equipment planning, as assigned
- Participate in campus, regional, college wide, and state teams and committees as assigned
- Participate in Advisory Committees as needed
- Collaborate with other associate deans across the college and district
- Travel to other campus locations for supervision, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Degree & Experience
Required:
- Master's degree in a related field
- Two years (four semesters) of full-time post-secondary teaching, eight semesters of part-time post-secondary teaching, or four years of secondary education teaching combined with part-time post-secondary teaching experience
- Three years related work experience
- One-year Supervisory/Leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Supervisory/leadership experience or supervisory/leadership education
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally
- Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining accountability and motivation in self and others
- Strong customer service skills that focus on diversity, community, and continuous quality improvement
- Problem-solving skills that employ critical thinking
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (or similar software) and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
- Experience leading projects through time management and effective delegation
- Ability to obtain driver's license and insurance coverage in accordance with college policy
