About the Job:
Responsible for preparing and assembling medical and surgical supplies, instrumentation, and equipment, maintaining the sterile processing areas, and receiving and distributing supplies and equipment.
Job Duties:
- Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization support, and documentation in accordance with IFUs and policy
- Operate and monitor reprocessing equipment safely and correctly
- Perform required quality assurance testing and documentation
- Prepare, stage, and ensure availability of sterile instruments and trays
- Maintain accurate tracking, traceability, and records
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and PPE requirements
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Participate in audits, tracers, and departmental corrective action plans
- Identify damaged or missing instruments and follow established repair processes
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated interest in Sterile Processing as a long-term career
- Ability to read, understand, and follow IFUs, policies, and detailed instructions
- (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be attained immediately upon hire and maintained per policy Training & Certification Requirements
- CRCST certification must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire
