This position is located onsite in Ashland, WI.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a roadmap for communication systems that aligns with clinical and operational goals.
- Collaborate with emergency management, nursing, IS and medical staff, and administration to assess communication needs and implement solutions.
- Work with Administration and Leaders on Emergency Preparedness to build confidence in managing emergencies and recovery.
- System Oversight & Optimization:
- Actively participate in the deployment, integration, and maintenance of communication platforms (e.g., Clinician Communication (pagers, etc.), Twiage, Vital Communications, R5, Informacast, EMResource, Cisco).
- Monitor system performance, user adoption, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
- Operational Excellence:
- Identify and resolve communication bottlenecks that impact patient care or staff efficiency.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for system use, escalation protocols, and downtime contingencies.
- Training & Support:
- Oversee training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff on communication tools.
- Serve as a liaison between end-users and technical teams to ensure user-friendly solutions
- Data & Reporting:
- Investigate and analyze communication system usage and incident data to drive improvements.
- Provide regular reports to leadership on system performance, user satisfaction, and ROI.
- Bachelor's degree and/or training in related field (e.g., Process Improvement, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Nursing).
- Emergency Preparedness training (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, IT, or clinical communications.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Preferred
Skills:- Experience with platforms like Epic, R5, Cisco, Microsoft Teams, or similar.
- Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications.
- Familiarity with clinical workflows and hospital operations.
- Proven leadership in managing enterprise communication systems in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare compliance standards.
