Job Description
Summary:
The Accounts Receivable & General Ledger Specialist will be primarily responsible for managing accounts receivable functions, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting general ledger accounting activities. This position will also assist the Controller and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with key accounting functions necessary for financial reporting, compliance, and month‑end close processes.
Primary Responsibilities- Process customer invoices, match invoices to purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies.
- Apply customer payments and perform daily cash application activities.
- Assist with setting up new customer accounts.
- Monitor Accounts Receivable aging reports weekly and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure customers remain current, credits are cleared, and small balances are reviewed for adjustment.
- Assist with collections activities and customer account reconciliation.
- Prepare and maintain General Ledger journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Process month‑end closing activities in accordance with closing schedules and enter all necessary journal entries (JEs).
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assist with General Ledger maintenance and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with fixed asset reconciliations and reporting.
- Assist with tax documentation preparation and filing support.
- Provide backup support for weekly cash forecasting and reporting.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Perform general office duties as required.
- Associate degree in Accounting or related field required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Strong administrative, organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel preferred.
- Experience with general accounting practices and accounting software applications.
- Experience with Accounts Receivable, cash application, collections, and General Ledger accounting.
- Understanding of month‑end close processes and journal entry preparation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Process‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Accounts Receivable and/or General Ledger accounting: 1 year preferred
- Microsoft Excel: 1 year preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Navision) preferred.
