Part-time

The optometrist will conduct eye exams for Acuity Eyecare group and strive to practice to the full capacity of their license. The optometrist will support practice growth by establishing patient relationships and educating patients on eyecare.

Responsibilities
  • Establish long-term patient relationships through proper patient care and education.
  • Conduct verbal interviews with patients prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for visit, and visual wants and needs.
  • Instruct, recommend, and advise patients on options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease, and visual needs.
  • Communicate recommendations to opticians and sales staff regarding appropriate lenses, coatings, and designs.
  • Generate patient loyalty and promote the profession of Optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values.
  • Perform vision tests and analyze results.
  • Diagnose sight problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and eye diseases.
  • Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications.
  • Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation (brand specific).
  • Provide pre‑ and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery, such as evaluating patients the day after cataract or refractive surgery.
  • Evaluate patients for diseases such as diabetes and refer to other healthcare providers within the proper time frame.
  • Promote eye health by counseling patients, including how to clean and wear contact lenses and frequency of eye examinations.
Requirements
  • Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
  • Must have passed all optometric state boards.
