A PSM-regulated chemical manufacturing facility in Ashtabula, Ohio is hiring a Mechanical Integrity Engineer to develop, implement, and manage the site's Mechanical Integrity Program for critical assets and protective systems. This role serves as the site Asset Engineer, providing technical leadership on mechanical integrity, inspection, equipment repair, and long-term asset management, and works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and SHE to maintain asset condition and ensure regulatory compliance.

Full-time, on-site in Ashtabula, OH.

$120,000 to $145,000 per year, based on experience.

The Mechanical Integrity Engineer maintains mechanical and civil engineering standards in accordance with regulatory requirements, applicable codes, RAGAGEP, and internal engineering standards, and maintains documentation and records for coded pressure vessels and other regulated equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining and continuously improving the site's list of critical assets and protective systems, developing inspection strategies and intervals, reviewing inspection results, and implementing recommendations to improve asset integrity and reliability. The engineer develops asset maintenance programs and manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs tied to mechanical integrity, partnering with Operations and Maintenance to troubleshoot equipment failures, identify recurring reliability issues, and develop equipment-specific maintenance strategies.

This role also leads Root Cause Analysis activities related to equipment failures, conducts annual reviews of asset condition to support long-term asset life planning, and provides technical expertise on piping, pressure vessels, tanks, and mechanical equipment, including applicable damage mechanisms and inspection methods. The engineer ensures Process Safety Management requirements are incorporated into mechanical integrity activities, promotes strong process and behavioral safety practices, investigates incidents and near misses with corrective action follow-up, and collaborates with Process Engineering and other technical functions on troubleshooting and reliability initiatives.
