Overview
General Summary Under direct supervision of the Ultrasound Coordinator and Radiology Director, adheres to the policies and procedures of CCHS and the Department of Radiology. Provides clinical instruction to Ultrasound students. Must communicate well with all departments of Radiology and those outside of Radiology. On-call responsibilities are required. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for duties involving direct patient care, Ultrasound procedures and safety.
Practices and insures promotion of behavior that meets and exceeds customer needs and expectations and supports the ACMC Healthcare System's Mission.
- Perform ultrasound procedures with direct patient care and safety considerations.
- Provide clinical instruction to Ultrasound students.
- Communicate effectively with all Radiology departments and external teams.
- Fulfill on-call responsibilities as required.
- Promote behaviors that meet and exceed customer needs and expectations in alignment with the ACMC Healthcare System's Mission.

Skills And Abilities
- Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology and/or graduate of an approved program in Ultrasound. Must demonstrate proficiency in operation of Ultrasound equipment, plethysmography equipment, computer skills, and communication and interpersonal skills with all customer groups in a fast-paced environment.
Required Length And Type Of Experience
This position requires a minimum of 1 year patient care delivery; in addition, one year formal ultrasound training is preferred.
Required Licensure Or Certification
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and/or
- Registered or registry eligible with the A.R.D.M.S. (within one year of date of hire)
- Registered and/or registry eligible RVT (within two years of date of hire)
- Must become licensed by the State of Ohio, if it becomes a state requirement.
- CPR certification current.
Physical And Environmental Demands
- Must be able to lift and assist with patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods daily.
- Finger dexterity to manipulate equipment and/or PC operation daily.
- Wrist and hand/wrist repetitions to manipulate equipment and/or PC operation daily.
- Exposure to radiation is a slight risk, daily.
- Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in OSHA requirements, PPE, safety procedures, and handling of hazardous materials.
- Must know MSDS for all items utilized and location of the department MSDS resources.
- Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate competency in blood borne pathogen exposures and procedures.
- Routine duties could regularly expose the employee to blood and other potentially infectious materials.
