At Community Care Ambulance, the Chase Unit is a rapid-response, non-transport ALS vehicle staffed by a Paramedic. This unit is designed to arrive quickly on scene, initiate advanced care, support BLS crews, and stabilize patients prior to or during ambulance transport.

This role is ideal for Paramedics who thrive in high-acuity environments and want to operate at the top of their license, using strong clinical judgment, autonomy, and teamwork to make an immediate impact on patient outcomes.

Paramedic

Duties & Responsibilities

Role Overview

As a Paramedic with Community Care Ambulance, you provide advanced life support (ALS), emergency medical care, and safe patient transport in pre‑hospital settings. You respond to dispatched calls, assess patient conditions, administer treatment, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high‑quality care.

Patient Care & Customer Service (80%)
  • Deliver care that meets or exceeds National ALS Standards and Community Care Ambulance protocols
  • Assess, treat, and stabilize patients in emergency and non‑emergency situations
  • Perform advanced procedures (airway management, IV/IO access, cardiac monitoring, medication administration)
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, hospitals, and team members
  • Provide compassionate, patient‑centered care
  • Maintain accountability for crew actions and patient outcomes
  • Operate, maintain, and restock vehicles and medical equipment
  • Follow infection control and decontamination procedures
Patient Documentation (10%)
  • Complete accurate and timely patient care reports (PCRs)
  • Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses
Daily Preparedness (5%)
  • Ensure vehicle, equipment, and supplies are response‑ready
Training & Meetings (5%)
  • Attend required trainings and staff meetings
Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited EMT-Paramedic program meeting or exceeding current National Standard Curriculum requirements
  • Previous paramedic experience preferred, but not required
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Required Certifications & Licensure
  • Current EMT-Paramedic certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CPR and ACLS certification
Knowledge
  • Advanced life support practices, including CPR and ACLS
  • Medical principles including patient assessment, treatment protocols, pharmacology, and disease processes
  • Customer service principles and patient‑centered care
  • English language (grammar, communication, and documentation)
  • Public safety procedures and emergency response operations
  • Medical transportation practices
  • Community Care Ambulance policies and procedures (may be learned after hire)
Skills
  • Deliver timely, effective patient care in high‑pressure environments
  • Safely operate emergency vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and company policy
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical decision‑making
  • Active listening and clear communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • High level of service orientation and compassion
  • Ability to adapt quickly and coordinate effectively with team members
  • Continuous learning and application of new clinical information

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours with breaks)
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours each per shift)
  • Ability to perform very heavy physical work, including:
    • Lifting or moving 100+ lbs occasionally
    • 50+ lbs frequently
    • 20+ lbs continuously
Schedule Requirements
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
