Produce Clerk

The produce clerk assists the Produce Manager in planning, directing and controlling the operation of the produce department to control production, inventory, quality, freshness, merchandising, losses, gross profit, net profit and hours of work in the produce department. They assist in the ordering of product to fill the department, support sales plans, and maximize sales, in addition to insuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Assist the Produce Manager in planning, directing and controlling the operation of the produce department to control production, inventory, quality, freshness, merchandising, losses, gross profit, net profit and hours of work in the produce department.
• Assist in the ordering of product to fill the department, support sales plans, and maximize sales, in addition to insuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Provide verbal and written direction to employees.
• Assist with the supervising, recruiting and training of employees.
• Conduct meetings to communicate business results and direction to employees.
• Operate all equipment in the store.
• Deal effectively with vendors, suppliers, competitors, employees and employee representatives.
• Discipline employees, when necessary.
• Write work schedules and reports.
• Assist in establishing and administering rules and regulations.

• Pass a Pre-Employment drug screen.
• Possess good interpersonal skills, be mature and a proven leader.
• Read, write, add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Be a self-starter.
• Travel to and from work.
• Operate telephones and intercoms.
