Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a minimum of 18 months of ICU experience, Epic proficiency, and an active Ohio or compact RN license for a night shift travel contract.
Responsibilities- Community hospital ICU setting
- Night shift schedule: 7p–7a, 3x12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Floating to Med/Surg may be required when ICU census is low
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Epic EMR is required
- Skills required include cardiovascular care, arterial line management, central line care, continuous IV sedation, ventilator management, PA/Swan-Ganz monitoring, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Manages critically ill patients including those requiring ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, and continuous IV sedation
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All requested time off must be disclosed prior to or during the interview process
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent or per diem staff are not eligible to return for 1 year from their previous end date
- The facility is 100% tobacco-free — no smoking or tobacco use permitted on site
- Active Ohio RN license or compact license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA) required
- NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
- Minimum of 18 months of permanent ICU experience required
- Charge nurse experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Two supervisory references (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in the ICU specialty required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- No open background cases; no license violations accepted
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
