Quality Control Technician

Department: Manufacturing & Distribution - Skilled Jobs

Description

ASC Engineered Solutions is seeking a Quality Control Technician to support the Quality Department by executing, maintaining, and continuously improving quality systems and inspection processes throughout the facility. This role is responsible for supporting customer needs through COC generation and supporting root cause investigation for nonconforming products. Performing dimensional and material inspections, supporting internal audits. The position ensures compliance with internal procedures, customer specifications, and applicable quality standards while promoting effective communication of quality requirements across all departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete incoming and internal dimensional inspection.
  • Issue COCs for all required customers.
  • Perform PPAP submissions and first article inspections.
  • Assist with Internal Audits and upkeep of ISO 9001 documentation.
  • Lead the management of calibratable gauges and measurement equipment.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to customer and internal quality issues.
  • Perform inspection and verification of all incoming raw materials to ensure conformance with applicable specifications and quality requirements.
  • Lead disposition of nonconforming product and management of hold roll area.
  • Inspect, post cure and weigh incoming count contracted parts.
  • Provide backup support for the inspector positions.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (rubber or plastics industry preferred).
  • Strong proficiency in dimensional inspection, measuring equipment, and mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Prior experience in calibration and calibration software.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and internal audit processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and utilize ERP systems.
  • Experience creating inspection instructions, including control plans, receiving inspections, and visual aids.
  • Strong work ethics and the ability to collaborate effectively across all departments.
