Quality Control Technician

Position Reporting

Position reporting directly to this position: NONE.

Has overall knowledge of Plastpro, Inc. products and accessories concerning specifications and methods of inspection. Inspect all components of the doors while in process and finished stages. Makes routing decisions on acceptance of these products using standard procedures and instruments.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience as an Inspection or quality technician.
• Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts.
• High-level visual awareness.
• Advanced organizational skills.
• Experience drafting reports and collating data.
• Ability to work alone with minimal supervision.
• Ability to analyze and interpret technical information.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Perform line audits.
• Conduct 24‑hour drop area inspections.
• Prepare written reports as necessary or directed.
• Check special orders and review blueprints to determine if specifications have been complied with.
• Inspect the quality of finished products for shipment and returned goods for acceptance into stock.
• Develop and maintain company inspection reports.
• Inspect raw material or product according to quality and safety standards.
• Ensure all raw materials and products comply with company standards.
• Ensure test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
• Report and record quality anomalies to the supervisor.
• Collate test data and draft quality reports.
• Identify possible areas for improvement in quality‑control processes.
• Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
• Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.

• Have adequate sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate all powered vehicles (e.g., forklifts, sweepers, cars, and pickups).
• Distinguish proper product identification and warning indicators.
• Distinguish warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators through hearing.
• Use tools required for quality‑control verification.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling capabilities to inspect pipe.
• Balance to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching in all areas.
• Verbally communicate face‑to‑face or via telephone with other employees to accomplish job requirements.
• Understand all verbal communication, whether face‑to‑face or via telephone.
• Understand all written communication.
• Confirm by sight the quality level of raw materials and products to determine acceptance or denial.
• Climb and descend all ladders or steps, whether fixed or portable, in company facilities to inspect pipe and raw materials.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 30 feet.
• Push or pull up to 2,500 pounds up to 30 feet with material‑handling equipment.
• Walk through, under, and around equipment with a clearance of 30 in.
• Grasp tools (manual and powered) and use them safely to avoid injury.
• Safely operate machinery and hand tools at arm’s length.

• State closeness of supervision, control by policy or procedure, direction of others.
• Work within Plastpro, Inc. guidelines and policies.
• Follow guidelines and directives supplied by Q.C. Supervisor.
