Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm.

Job Summary    Welcomes and initiates contact with patient families to obtain necessary registration and insurance information. Registers patients by following established department guidelines. Ensure that all patient accounts flow through the revenue cycle without errors caused by lack of insurance verification, incomplete or inaccurate demographic information or other registration-related errors.
Essential Functions    - Communicates timely with patients, families, and staff to ensure seamless access throughout the delivery of care.  - Actively greets patient families, engaging them before they engage us to ensure a positive first contact to begin their experience with Children’s.  - Supports clinic flow, monitoring patient location, communicating waiting room placement and wait time while communicating the patient’s needs to care providers through appropriate channels to maintain optimal clinic operations.  

- Engage with Interpreter services when indicated in the Electronic Medical Record or at patient family request.  - Enters all registration information (demographic and insurance) accurately and completely. Scans registration documents as needed into the system, obtains patient/family signatures and collects co-pays/ outstanding balances from patient, parent, or guardian in accordance to CHHS guidelines.  - Facilitates self-check in process through Welcome Kiosks and concierge module.  

- Positively identify patients and actively engage with families utilizing self-service options.  - Follows proper infection prevention protocols and check for isolation and infection prevention alerts and notifications.

Education:

- High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) Required

Experience:

- 1+ years of experience in customer service Required  - Epic experience Preferred  - Prior experience in a healthcare setting Preferred    Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities

- Excellent organizational, analytical, and prioritizing skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks done simultaneously. Ability to work independently or as a team.  - Ability to work a weekend schedule, holiday schedule and possible hours or location shift change at times.  - Knowledge of computer and keyboard, Microsoft Window and basic word processing skills and ability to troubleshoot basic PC issues.  

- Proficient data entry skills with accuracy and speed  - Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
