We are looking for a capable resource to coordinate, ranging from simple activities to more complex plans. This role will provide on‑site assistance to end‑users within the organisation’s desktop computing environment in a timely and accurate fashion to ensure optimal service delivery.

Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer (On‑Demand / Contract)

Contract Type: 1099 Independent Contractor | On‑Demand | No Employee Benefits

Role Overview: We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled Desktop Support Engineer to provide on‑demand onsite IT support for enterprise clients. This role involves responding to service requests as needed and providing hands‑on technical assistance for desktops, laptops, network connectivity, and peripheral devices at the client location.

Position Nature: This is a contract‑based, on‑demand position. Availability and responsiveness are essential. Candidates must be able to perform hands‑on support, inclusive of lifting and handling IT equipment as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite desktop and IT support for end users at client locations.
  • Perform hands‑on “feet on the ground” support, including lifting and installing hardware as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware, operating systems, and enterprise software.
  • Support network connectivity issues, including LAN troubleshooting.
  • Assist with device setup, replacement, and hardware installations.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting using console access when required.
  • Document service activities and communicate updates to the Service Delivery Team.
  • Follow client IT policies and security procedures while performing onsite tasks.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and desktop environments.
  • Experience in hardware troubleshooting and replacement.
  • Basic understanding of networking (LAN connectivity, switches, routers).
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve desktop, printer, and peripheral issues.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently in onsite support environments.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry IT equipment as needed.

Tools Required to Carry:

  • Windows Laptop
  • LAN Cable
  • Screwdriver Toolkit
  • Basic IT troubleshooting tools

Work Model:

  • On‑demand / field support role.
  • Assignments shared by the Service Delivery Team via phone or email.
  • Engineers receive site location, SPOC details, and reporting time before each assignment.
  • No guaranteed number of working hours.

1‑year contract (renewable based on client needs).

No employee benefits included.
