Role Description
The Lead Designer and Project Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Aspen, CO. This role oversees interior design projects from concept through installation, including space planning, material and finish selection, furniture and fixture specifications, and preparation of design presentations. The person in this role will manage project schedules, budgets, documentation, and communication with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
Responsibilities include drawings, coordinating orders and deliveries, conducting site visits, resolving design and construction issues, and maintaining accurate project records. The Lead Designer and Project Manager also mentors junior team members, supports business development efforts, and helps maintain the studio’s design standards and brand consistency.
- Demonstrated expertise in interior design, including space planning, materials and finishes, and FF&E selection.
- Strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating multiple projects and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with design and documentation tools (such as AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, or similar), as well as presentation software.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings, present design concepts, and build long-term relationships.
- Experience working closely with architects, contractors, fabricators, and vendors on high-end residential and/or commercial projects.
- Ability to manage the full project lifecycle, from concept and design development through installation and project closeout.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Previous experience in a lead or senior designer role, ideally within a boutique or high-end design firm.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Aspen, CO, including regular site visits and in-person collaboration with the team.
