Overview
Colorado Mountain College seeks an adjunct faculty member who will contribute to dynamic classroom experiences, advanced student support, and faculty scholarship in a collegial environment that values inclusivity and sustainability.
Responsibilities- Teach a full‑time course load, preparing lesson plans and maintaining syllabi in accordance with approved course objectives.
- Assess student learning, meet established learning outcomes, and keep accurate course records.
- Maintain office hours per established standards, develop professional rapport with students, and participate in advising, orientation, and registration activities.
- Engage in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and contribute to campus and college committees, student organization mentoring, program review, and student recruitment and retention.
- Represent the college professionally throughout the communities and districts, promoting a positive public image.
- Master’s degree in the specific program or a master’s with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a related field; credentialed to teach in the specific program or eligible to be credentialed.
- Minimum of one year of full‑time adjunct teaching experience; higher education teaching experience preferred.
- Strong background in computers and technology, excellent organizational skills, and general office skills (filing, typing, answering the phone, customer orientation, attention to detail).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; willingness to learn; ability to research and effectively analyze data; work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) or conversational language abilities preferred.
This position requires the employee to be a resident of the State of Colorado and to perform all work duties within the state. It is not eligible for visa sponsorship; applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship. The position may require travel, evening and/or weekend hours, and occasional driving. Student employees may be supervised by the faculty member.
