Certified Exempt - Full-Time (1.0 FTE / 40 hours per week) Contract Period: 185 working days. Serving a diverse, multilingual student body of approximately 450 students in grades 5 through 8, BMS is committed to fostering academic excellence and character development. Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our dynamic 6th grade team. As part of a strong and collaborative grade-level team, this teacher will play a key role in fostering academic excellence through engaging, standards-based instruction.

Bilingualism in English and Spanish is desirable, but is not required. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality math instruction in 6th grade mathematics classes and a mathematics intervention class. Collaborate with colleagues to plan, implement, and assess lessons aligned to standards and student needs. Foster a classroom environment that is inclusive, culturally responsive, and supportive of all learners. Ideal Candidate Qualities Deep passion for equitable, engaging instruction.

Strong planning skills rooted in standards-based practices. Enthusiastic about building relationships with a diverse student population. Committed to making learning relevant, joyful, and meaningful. In addition to teaching Math, the successful candidate will serve as a Crew Leader a vital mentor and advocate for a small group of students throughout the school year. As a Crew Leader, you will Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families.

Serve as the primary communication link between school and home. Guide students in setting academic and personal goals. Support social-emotional development and foster a sense of belonging. Education and Licensing Guidelines Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Active Colorado teacher license, authorization, or the ability to obtain Endorsement in Middle School Mathematics (6-8), Secondary Math (6-12), Elementary Education, or the ability to obtain Official transcripts must be provided upon hire.

For international transcripts, an evaluation is required through a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) Visa candidates:
An initial (3-year) license is the minimum requirement for employment offers Physical Requirements May include, standing and walking for extended periods; bend, stoop, and lift materials; reach for supplies on high shelves; use manual dexterity for tasks like writing and using technology; communicate clearly and effectively with students; climb stairs in multi-level buildings.
