Banquet Houseperson

The Banquet Houseperson supports the successful execution of meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events by ensuring all banquet spaces are properly set, maintained, and reset according to event specifications. This role is essential to delivering a seamless guest experience through efficient room setups, cleanliness, teamwork, and attention to detail.

Essential Job Functions
  • Set up banquet rooms according to event orders, including tables, chairs, linens, staging, and other related equipment.
  • Break down and reset event spaces promptly following events and reset rooms to standard or next-event configuration.
  • Move, transport and position banquet equipment throughout the property and properly storing banquet equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure all meeting and event spaces are clean, orderly, and presentation-ready at all times
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of event spaces, storage rooms, hallways, and service corridors.
  • Assist banquet servers and managers as needed during events.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or damaged equipment to management.
  • Support last-minute changes to room setups with a positive attitude.
  • Comply with all hotel policies, safety standards, and service expectations.
  • Strong reliability, teamwork, and time management skills.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in banquet operations, hospitality, events, or facilities support preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to learn hotel standards, event setups, and service expectations.
Requirements
  • Ability to read and follow banquet event orders (BEOs).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
  • Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and changing priorities.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor at all times- including provided nametags and company pin.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Capable of working in a highly active role involving constant movement across a 42-acre property,
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 60 pounds regularly
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
  • Ability to move and arrange heavy furniture and equipment safely
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and time-sensitive setups
  • Exposure to noise, crowds, and varying temperatures depending on event location.
  • Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively handle/ assist customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
  • Requires coordination with multiple departments, including Banquets, Catering, Housekeeping, and Engineering
