- Develop, implement, and monitor the hospital's infection prevention and control program
- Ensure compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation for Critical Access Hospitals, CDC/NHSN guidelines, state health department regulations, and Joint Commission accreditation standards
- Support quality activities across departments
- Monitor performance metrics
- Support survey readiness
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an acute care or critical access hospital setting
- Strong understanding of infection control principles, epidemiology basics, and regulatory frameworks (CMS CoPs, CDC/NHSN)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting data to committees and leadership
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple regulatory deadlines independently
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or willingness to obtain within an agreed timeframe (preferred)
- Experience with NHSN reporting platform (preferred)
- Prior experience in a quality, risk management, or performance improvement role (preferred)
- Epic experience (preferred)
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered for certain jobs
Demonstrates expertise in infection prevention and control, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and driving quality improvement initiatives. Proficient in managing performance metrics and supporting survey readiness in a clinical nursing environment.
