About Res Ipsa

Res Ipsa is a travel-inspired lifestyle brand creating distinctive clothing, footwear, accessories, and home goods. We weave many of our fabrics by hand and give new life to vintage kilims and globally sourced textiles. The result is a collection of practical, refined, and often one-of-a-kind pieces—each with its own story.

Our brand is travel. Our stores bring that idea to life through exceptional products, warm hospitality, and a point of view that values individuality over conformity.

The Opportunity

Res Ipsa is seeking an entrepreneurial, service-driven Store Manager to lead our Aspen flagship.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves beautiful products, understands relationship-based selling, and knows how to operate a small luxury boutique with discipline and care. The Store Manager will own the store’s sales performance, client experience, team culture, merchandising, inventory accuracy, and daily operations.

Aspen has two distinct peak seasons and an international clientele with high expectations. The successful candidate will be comfortable adapting quickly, building lasting local and visitor relationships, and creating an experience that feels personal, relaxed, knowledgeable, and unmistakably Res Ipsa.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive Sales and Client Relationships
  • Achieve store sales goals and improve key performance indicators, including conversion, average transaction value, units per transaction, and repeat-client business.
  • Lead from the sales floor, personally engaging clients and demonstrating thoughtful, high-touch service.
  • Build and maintain a strong client book through consistent outreach, follow-up, appointments, and product recommendations.
  • Develop relationships with Aspen residents, seasonal homeowners, visitors, stylists, hospitality partners, and other members of the local community.
  • Identify opportunities for private shopping appointments, local collaborations, trunk shows, and store events.
  • Turn product knowledge and brand storytelling into a compelling sales experience.
Lead and Develop the Team
  • Recruit, onboard, schedule, coach, and retain a talented store team.
  • Set clear daily and weekly goals and hold the team accountable for results.
  • Conduct regular sales coaching, product training, and performance conversations.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture grounded in ownership, curiosity, hospitality, and teamwork.
  • Plan staffing around Aspen’s winter and summer peaks, special events, holidays, and shoulder seasons.
Own Store Operations
  • Oversee opening, closing, cash handling, deposits, returns, exchanges, and daily reporting.
  • Maintain accurate inventory across Shopify POS and the physical store.
  • Ensure one-of-a-kind items are recorded and removed from available inventory promptly when sold.
  • Lead regular cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Communicate product needs, size gaps, transfers, and replenishment priorities to the retail and operations teams.
  • Manage receiving, transfers, stock organization, supplies, repairs, and general store maintenance.
  • Protect company assets and maintain appropriate loss-prevention practices.
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, secure, and ready for clients at all times.
Represent the Brand
  • Become an expert on Res Ipsa’s products, materials, makers, craftsmanship, and travel-inspired brand story.
  • Maintain compelling visual merchandising that feels collected, colorful, sophisticated, and appropriate for Aspen.
  • Provide thoughtful feedback on local demand, customer preferences, product performance, and emerging opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with the adjacent Res Ipsa Home store and the broader retail, merchandising, e-commerce, and operations teams.
  • Serve as a trusted local ambassador for Res Ipsa within the Aspen community.
What We’re Looking For
  • At least three years of retail leadership experience, preferably in luxury, premium specialty retail, fashion, home, art, or hospitality.
  • A demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and develop long-term client relationships.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience hiring, coaching,…
