Property Maintenance Engineer
To maintain and monitor the entire 40-acre property and equipment. To ensure appearance is in top condition
Essential Job Functions- Perform engineering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in the following buildings:
- Six (6) guest room buildings
- Two (2) Town Homes
- Four (4) meeting and office buildings
- Health and Wellness Center
- Main building housing restaurant, café, reception center, and banquet space
- Three (3) Irrigation pump systems for lawns and gardens
- 10 Acres of Lawn Care and 10 planted Garden's to include Art Mounds, and Water Supply Ditches for Irrigation and watering flowered planters at all buildings
- Learn and perform preventive maintenance programs for guestrooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and mechanical systems.
- You will be scheduled to meet the needs of having proper shift coverage for a large, multi-building campus and events.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption and timely resolution.
- Become familiar and learn all building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety, fire alarm, irrigation, and lighting systems.
- Become familiar and complete periodic inspections that ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including life-safety and environmental standards.
- Become certified pool operator and perform chemical testing on pool and spa water as well as repairs on plumbing & learn about pool and spa heating systems.
- Complete Nuvola work orders by using an assigned device/desktop for completing work tickets/service requests.
- Maintain your tools, and notify your supervisor about needing replacement supplies to support efficient operations.
- Provide operational support thru lateral service for other departments such as Rooms, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Events, and Wellness.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
- Learn and be involved with our safety culture, accountability standards, and preventative care across the property.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade school training preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hotel or resort engineering/maintenance experience
- Experience surrounding maintenance operations across multiple buildings or a large campus environment preferred.
- Familiar with both written and oral English is helpful;
Spanish proficiency is beneficial. - Basic working knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and building mechanical/HVAC systems.
- Basic reading skills to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic power, plumbing, sewer and HVAC issues, and communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.
- Being flexible and adaptable and to be working on multiple projects at times.
- Pool and Hot tub Operator Certification (CPO) or similar certification is preferred and or required within 1 year of employment. Learn and understand OSHA training/standards with provided training courses on line. Servsafe Certification is desired and or required within 2 years of employment. Flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
- Medium-to-heavy work required at times:
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and access rooftops and mechanical spaces.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work in confined or small spaces.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools, equipment, and controls
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors across a 40-acre resort campus.
- Duties are performed in a variety of environments including:
- Indoor public spaces and back-of-house areas
- Outdoor areas and rooftops in all seasons, including cold winter conditions, snow, ice, and inclement weather
- Mechanical rooms, utility corridors, and service areas
- Confined and restricted spaces, including hot crawl spaces, attics, and mechanical chases, which may have limited ventilation
- Exposure to noise, vibrations, dust, chemicals, cleaning agents, and mechanical equipment.
- Work may involve uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, rooftops, and elevated work areas.
- Noise levels may vary depending on work area and active equipment.
- Must be able to work safely while adhering to all safety protocols and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA .
- Fast-paced hospitality environment requiring responsiveness to guest and operational needs.
