The Accounts Payable & Payroll Specialist is a temporary, full-time position and is accountable for managing and processing accounts payable and payroll.
ResponsibilitiesAccounts Payable
- Manage invoice processing, including obtaining approvals, entering invoices, processing payments (checks, wires, EFTs), and reconciling bank activity.
- Maintain vendor relationships by responding to inquiries, monitoring compliance documents (W‑9s, insurance certificates), and overseeing accurate vendor records.
- Prepare year‑end 1099s and ensure proper document filing and digital storage.
- Monitor loan amortization schedules to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Administer payroll processing, including tracking changes or exceptions, managing Time & Attendance workflows, reviewing payroll accuracy, and coordinating approvals.
- Maintain payroll records and reporting, including journal entries, payroll logs, checklists, monthly reporting, and reconciliation of accrued liabilities.
- Support employees and department managers in resolving payroll issues or discrepancies.
- Process ILWU payroll.
Minimum of two years progressively responsible work in Accounts Payable and/or Payroll on a computerized accounting system. An Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred. Requires strong analytical skills, spreadsheet proficiency, communication skills, being detail orientated, having the ability to process large volumes of work independently, being able to meet multiple demands in a limited amount of time and being a team player.
Pay& Benefits
Pay $28.00 - $30.00/hour DOE. This position is classified as temporary, full-time, non-exempt, hourly, and includes health and retirement benefits, paid vacation, and sick leave.
