ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTYToday Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through these divisions:
County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, Community Development, the District Attorney, and Sheriff’s Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district.
The purpose of this position is to provide advanced administrative, customer, and staff support that facilitates the effective operation of the assigned department/division and ensures coordination between legal professionals, staff, and external stakeholders. This position will be the first point of contact between the community and the District Attorney’s Office by operating the front desk and performing Trial Assistant duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent, and five (5) years of experience in a clerical or administrative field. OR
- An associate’s degree in a relevant field and two (2) years’ training and experience in the clerical and/or administrative field.
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
- Familiarity with criminal and civil terminology and law enforcement processes and procedures.
- Experience working in a prosecutor’s or legal office and/or administrative support for a law enforcement agency.
- Clerical or Administrative support experience in an office setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other administrative software tools.
- Proficiency with intercultural communication, including the ability to read, write, and speak Spanish.
