This small to mid-size hospital provides dedicated radiation oncology services within a structured outpatient and clinic-based environment. The facility maintains established clinical protocols and appropriate resources to support coordinated oncology patient management. On-site support staff includes one oncologist and one APP to facilitate quality cancer care delivery throughout each coverage period.
About the Facility LocationAstoria, Oregon, situated at the mouth of the Columbia River, is the oldest city in the state and the first permanent U.S. settlement west of the Rockies. The area is characterized by Victorian-era architecture, surrounding forests, and proximity to the Pacific Ocean, offering clinicians on assignment access to a range of outdoor and cultural activities. Clinicians may also explore the region's history through walking tours, hiking trails, and specialty museums.
The radiation oncologist will provide outpatient and clinic-based radiation oncology services on a day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with no call requirements. Clinical responsibilities include managing follow-up patients, overseeing on-treatment visits, and delivering radiation oncology services utilizing IMRT, IGRT, and SBRT modalities. This assignment represents periodic vacation coverage for the facility's radiation oncologist, with an expected patient volume of 20-30 patients on treatment per day.
Board certification in Radiation Oncology, prescriptive authority, and an active state medical license are required.
