Medical Technologist & Lab Technician
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist coordinates all activities of the Nuclear Medicine Department. Prepares, administers, and images radioactive isotopes for diagnostic studies utilizing a variety of imaging and detecting equipment.
Job Requirements Knowledge Of/Skill/Ability ToPerform quality control, radiation surveys, equipment calibration and radioactive waste disposal according to set standards and practices.
License/Certification- National Certification as a Nuclear Medical Technologist by NMTCB
- ARRT Radiography Credential
- Licensed as Nuclear Medical Technologist by Oregon Board of Medical Imaging
- BLS upon hire and kept current
Graduation from an accredited JRCERT School of Radiologic Technology. Two (2) years experience as a practicing technologist in Nuclear Medicine preferred. Strong organizational abilities, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Physical Demands And Work Environment Conditions / ADA ComplianceOccupational exposure to some electrical and radiant hazards. Works with radioactive isotopes, film processing chemicals. Safety materials are provided for hazardous materials. Lifting up to 100 pounds, assisting patients, pushing/pulling, and reaching. Must be able for verbally interact with staff, patients, and public. Must have manual dexterity of hands/fingers for writing and computer input. Hearing must be within normal limits with or without use of corrective hearing devices.
