POSITION SUMMARY

The Housekeeping Supervisor/Inspector is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of hotel guest accommodations and public areas according to the standards established by the hotel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties:

  • 1. Manages room cleaning operations to ensure methods meet company and brand standards and keeps room cleaning deficiencies to a minimum.
  • 2. Inspects assign units each day, ensuring that all standards are met and corrective action is taken by attendants as required. Inspect all VIP rooms daily.
  • 3. Ensures all standards of operation operate effectively such as linen & inventory control procedures, rotation of mattresses, key control procedures, safety and security procedures, storeroom organization and cart stocking, lost and found.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Projects a professional image of the hotel.
  • Responds promptly and follows through on guest requests in effective and friendly manner to exceed guest expectations for service.
  • Personally, inspects rooms and public areas.
  • Oversee an ongoing general cleaning program with documented records for each unit.
  • Successfully completes daily housekeeping reports in timely manner.
  • Ensures all housekeeping and laundry equipment is maintained in working order through communication with the Executive Housekeeper and follow-up with the maintenance department, etc.
  • Monitors labor for the day, ensuring productivity standards remain on track.
  • Maintains linen and supply costs within annual budget.
  • Monitors and controls inventories and conduct accurate linen and supply inventory.
  • Ensures key control procedures are followed.
  • Knows and teaches safety prevention rules and techniques including fire safety to minimize workers compensation claims and company liability.
  • Works with all departments on a regular basis to solve interdepartmental hotel operations problems, to promote excellent guest service and to promote programs.

  • Provides leadership to others through example and sharing knowledge and skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position directly oversees and supervises all positions in the department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Oversee the day-to-day operations of all housekeeping associates. Assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing technical guidance on complex issues. Training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies with limited or no guidance.
