POSITION

PURPOSE:

Manages and directs the Assisted Living towards its primary objectives as established by the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors, following all applicable Federal, State and Local guidelines, rules and regulations, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Others may be assigned.

  • Establishes and directs current and long range objectives and polices in accordance with all applicable regulations, subject to approval by the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Establish and direct the implementation of written facility policies and procedures in accordance with licensure requirements, subject to approval by CEO and Board of Directors
  • Ensures that resources are used effectively and efficiently to maintain good fiscal management and quality environment and resident care
  • Participates in all required and requested inspections with CEO and keeps the Board informed of results and provides for prompt corrective measures as indicated
  • Ensures residents rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality and the right to file a grievance
  • Ensure appropriate placement of residents through participation in assessments, service plans
  • Oversees, with the assistance of the CEO and CFO, the adequacy and soundness of the facility financial structure
  • Reviews operating results of the facility; compares them to established objectives; reviews with CEO, CFO and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results
  • Establishes and maintains an effective system of communication throughout the organization
  • Maintains a Public Relations program that serves the best interest of the Health District and all those it serves and represents.
  • Establishes a fire and disaster plan and assures it is current, feasible and familiar to all employees and residents
  • Develops and maintains Quality Improvement Program, reports results to CEO
  • Provides for adequate and appropriate staffing
  • Manages staff through appropriate hiring, scheduling, orientation, training and dismissal
  • Creates and maintains and atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, positive emphasis and calm environment throughout the facility
  • Ensures current knowledge of changes regarding regulations, trends, customer preferences through participation in workshops, reading and seminars. Fulfills licensure requirements for annual continuing education.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages subordinate supervisors, administrative staff and through them, all employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of employees and departments.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

NON ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

All job functions are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Must hold a current license as an Assisted Living Administrator in the State of Oregon. Four

years of college required in a health care, finance, administration, or related field preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret industry related journals and financial reports. Ability to

respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members

of the Public. Ability to effectively present information to Supervisors, public groups, and/or

Board of Directors.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current license as an Assisted Living Administrator in the State of Oregon

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must have an ability to communicate and practice empathy for those families and residents

during critical periods of the residents stay.
