Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
Directs an intricate program of resources management activities that involve sensitivity and complex issues that may impact a wide variety of park issues. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjust short and long-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinate based on priorities, considers the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees;

evaluate work, performance of subordinate; gives advice, council, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters; interviews candidate for position; performs minor, disciplinary matters, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action and more serious cases; identifies, provides, or arranges for developmental and training needs of employees; and develops performance standards, performance goals, position descriptions, vacancy announcements, and rating criteria for evaluating applicants.

Represents the superintendent when working with others on resource stewardship issues. Develops and maintains effective working relations with native Americans, other traditionally associated and related groups, agencies, and the public. Attends management and professional conferences and other events for the purpose of exchanging information and advocacy for Park stewardship. Prepares and coordinates the efforts of others in the preparation of resources, management plans, and specific action plans pertaining to the management and protection of cultural and natural resources.

An important aspect of this activity is the integration of natural and cultural resource program activities. Develops and implements long range plans for the inventory, evaluation, documentation, preservation, research, and interpretation of the resources within the appropriate mission, objectives and resources context. Coordinate Park resources management programs with those on adjacent lands for the purposes of achieving broad protection strategies and preventing human impacts.

Provides for public involvement, including Native Americans and other traditionally associated groups in sensitive or potentially controversial resources issues. The park programs are well coordinated with both a local and regional context. Develops and maintains pure relationships with researchers, subject matter, experts, and resource says managers of other agencies, cooperating university, traditionally associated groups, and other entities in order to encourage and facilitate cooperative regional strategies.
