Oakwood Enrichment Academy is a relationship-centered, hands‑on learning community serving students in grades TK–9. We are seeking an experienced, confident educator who loves teaching, values meaningful work, and thrives in a warm, collaborative environment.
This role is ideal for a strong teacher who wants to focus on students and learning rather than bureaucracy, excessive testing, or rigid scripted instruction.

Teachers (we call them Learning Guides
) lead a mixed‑ability class and are responsible for creating an engaging, well‑managed classroom using our established curriculum framework.
- Dynamic read‑aloud literature connected to history and science themes
- Hands‑on history or STEAM projects
- Weekly science labs
- Student interactive note booking
- Outdoor time and community‑building activities
- Use provided curriculum grids and materials to organize engaging lessons
- Lead projects, discussions, and hands‑on learning experiences
- Write a short weekly parent bulletin using our template
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in brief daily debriefs
- Help maintain a calm, organized, and joyful classroom environment
- Has real classroom teaching experience
- Can manage a classroom confidently and warmly
- Is a self‑starter who takes initiative rather than waiting to be directed
- Is comfortable following a shared curriculum while bringing lessons to life
- Communicates professionally with families
- Works well on a small, collaborative team
- Values kindness, inclusivity, and restorative practices
- Needs step‑by‑step direction
- Prefers fully scripted programs
- Is uncomfortable leading hands‑on, active learning
Required
- Classroom teaching experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Livescan fingerprint clearance (upon hire)
- Mandated Reporter Training (provided)
- CPR/First Aid certification (provided, if needed)
Preferred
- Teaching credential or education‑related certification
- Experience with project‑based or interdisciplinary learning
- $30/hour for experienced, qualified educators
- Higher pay available for candidates with Montessori certification and a Master’s degree
