Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery - $51-81 per hour

Adventist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery for a nursing job in Atascadero, California.

Job Summary

Perform the professional functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. Coordinate, manage, provide and delegate patient care. Responsible for meeting the established Standards of Nursing Practice and promoting cooperation among the health care team.

Education and

Work Experience:

  • Graduate of a school of nursing:
    Required
  • One-year recent acute care RN experience:
    Required

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current RN license in state of practice:
    Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification:
    Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS):
    Required within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification:
    Required within 6 months of hire or transfer
  • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course:
    Required on hire and every two years for experienced nurses
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring course (new L&D RNs):
    Required during first 6–8 months of L&D orientation;
    Advanced Fetal Monitoring every two years thereafter
Essential Functions
  • Actively participates in committees (e.g., Shared Governance) and promotes good relationships with patients, families, physicians, co‑workers, and the community.
  • Maintains current professional licenses and/or certifications as required by state or hospital mandates.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to all applicable professional/regulatory practice acts, state/federal regulations, and hospital policies and procedures; attends mandatory ethics program.
  • Protects hospital resources by appropriate use of supplies and equipment; practices safety standards, proper body mechanics, and infection control; reports hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
