We currently have an opening in our Atchison, Kansas office for a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our finance team in the role of HR & Accounting Coordinator. The ideal candidate will be focused on accuracy and attention to detail with a well‑organized, professional, and proactive approach to their work. This role is instrumental in supporting the finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to work with the local operations and larger finance team to improve processes and to grow within a company.
- Involvement in various aspects of the local accounting functions including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll
- Completing bank reconciliations and cash applications
- Processing invoicing for the local facility
- Management of accounts payable for the facility and working with procurement
- Coordinate and support the recruitment process (job postings, screening, interviews)
- Oversee the onboarding of new employees, including conducting orientation
- Administer employee benefits programs (health, dental, retirement)
- Process payroll accurately and maintain payroll records
- Assist employees with payroll, time, benefits, etc. related questions and claims
- Prepare HR reports and metrics for leadership
- Provide regular communication updates to all employees through various internal communication channels
- Coordinate training sessions and professional development programs
- Track employee progress and maintain training records
- Processing customer credit applications
- Assisting with month‑end close process and reporting tasks as required
- Organize employee engagement activities and recognition programs
- Supporting year‑end compliance reviews and audits
- Perform additional tasks as required by the needs of the company
- Minimum 5 years of payroll and/or accounting clerk experience is an asset
- Proficiency in working with payroll and accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with others in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
