Job DescriptionManagement Information Systems (MIS) Data Clerk
Purpose: The Management Information Systems (MIS) Data Clerk will process and analyze student data, process student information and records, and assist with the efficient operations of student record keeping across the district utilizing district and state student online information systems. In addition, the MIS Clerk is responsible for accurate and timely entry of all special education MIS data to the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) for final review and submission by district administrators.

Salary $16.00 to $20.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or vocational education preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel) and Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of office procedures and operation of common office equipment.
- Ability to maintain clerical records and prepare reports from those records.
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple complex and technical tasks while adapting to changing job requirements.
- Ability to interact tactfully and professionally with parents, students, staff, administrators, and service providers, with an understanding of the needs of students receiving special education services.
- Proficient in business English, spelling, basic mathematics, and proofreading.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Possess a valid Kansas driver's license.
- High level of competence with software, systems, and all applicable devices
- Willingness to learn new skills and systems, federal and state reports, and related areas
- Health and inoculation certificate on file in the District Office (after an employment offer is made)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of experience in a secretarial, administrative assistant, educational, or business office setting.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in education, business administration or communications
- Knowledge of the business management software for schools

- Adapt to changing priorities and perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the mission, vision, and goals of USD 409.
- Perform such other related duties as assigned by district administration.

Special Education Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain the district's Management Information System (MIS) and SPEDPro database in accordance with Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of special education data, meeting all KSDE reporting deadlines and compliance requirements, including the KIAS Timely and Accurate Data Indicator.
- Import, export, validate, reconcile, and correct data within SPEDPro and related reporting systems.
- Prepare, maintain, and submit required KSDE reports, including the Categorical Aid Personnel System (PCA) report and other state-required submissions.
