Position: POLICE OFFICER with Security Clearance
Duties As a POLICE OFFICER, GS-0083-07, you will perform the full spectrum of police officer duties within the assigned jurisdictions:
Incumbent may full powers of apprehension and detention, which entails carrying a firearm, mirandizing suspects, preserving evidence, and testifying in court as it pertains to enforcing regulations within assigned jurisdiction. The incumbent is required to meet all requirements of Federal, DoD, AF, MAJCOM, State, and local level rules and regulations to maintain trainings and weapons qualifications, as a police officer on a military installation, which may include maintaining Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification.

Patrol the installation on foot or in vehicles; responds to alarms, irregularities, and unusual or suspicious circumstances; and investigates the incidents. Enforce traffic rules and regulations, including those related to speed, reckless and drunken driving. Work Schedule:

This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5 day workweek, then a 4 day workweek ( 8 nine-hour days and 1 eight-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80 hour pay period. * Must possess a valid Kansas State driver's license prior to appointment
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Confidential clearance within one year of appointment.
* This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

* May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE :
Must have general experience includes experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
Musthave the experience and knowledge of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments;

in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
1. This position has been identified as a designated position under the Air Force Drug Testing Plan. Incumbent(s) of this position is/are subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
2. Incumbent must qualify and remain qualified in the use of required weapons, as the incumbent will be required to use firearms in performing duties.

4. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain required security clearance associated with the position. 5. The incumbent must wear a DAF Police Officer uniform as identified in the DAF Police AFI and required to meet dress and appearance standards when supporting non-DoD agencies IAW the AFI. Dual Status technicians, military uniform will be worn at the discretion of the SFS commander.
