Early Childhood Psychosocial Program Attendant (PRN)

The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We provide high-quality care to all individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances. At our center, we offer a unique combination of counseling, case management, psychosocial, and medication services, all under one roof.

This position provides attendant care services to clients participating in the Center’s Early Childhood program. Evenings required (1+ days per week after 5 p.m.).

Primary Duties
  • Assist with promoting successful group interactions among consumers
  • Encourage and support clients’ engagement in ECPP activities
  • Encourage and support clients’ efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact with others
  • Work respectfully and supportively with clients’ parents/caregivers, while observing appropriate boundaries
  • Transport clients to and from activities or appointments when necessary, and serve as attendant on van transportation routes as assigned
  • Facilitate/co‑facilitate groups as assigned
  • Understand direct service requirements and efficiency goals established by TGC for the position, and achieve the same
  • Provide documentation (clinical notes, reports, and other professional products) which complies with TGC’s Quality Improvement standards and the requirements of all funding sources
  • Be able to organize work to meet direct service expectations and Center requirements
  • Adapt to changing work priorities and a fast‑paced environment while maintaining professionalism
  • Qualifications

    Education: High school graduate or GED required. Must have completed one year of college coursework in the field of human services, or have one year of experience in the field of human services, or a combination of one year of education and one year of work experience in the field of human services.

    Experience: Required: at least 6 months of experience working with individuals in the community. Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work may be included. Preferred: experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
