IT Specialist; Network Security Clearance

Position: IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) with Security Clearance
Duties As an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK), GS-2210-11, you will administer the base Local Area Network (LAN). Implement new network operating systems hardware and software and develops base wide network operating procedures. Analyze LAN utilization statistics through data collection and performance measures to ensure the smooth, reliable, and robust operation of LANs to include classified and unclassified networks. Coordinate LAN installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reviews, evaluates, and fine-tunes components such as virtual servers, hubs, switches, and routers to achieve peak efficiency within the overall network connectivity.

Assist in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of network systems to include the LAN/WAN. Receive network, communications, and related operating systems from various sources such as design centers and commercial vendors. Maintain an inventory of all network hardware and software. Work Schedule:

This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5 day workweek, then a 4 day workweek ( 8 nine-hour days and 1 eight-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80 hour pay period. * Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
* Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level.
* All certifications are required within 6 months of employment.
* Must obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance level within one year of appointment.
* Irregular and overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies.
* Position is designated within the Defense Cybersecurity Workforce as guided by;
National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, Cybersecurity Workforce Framework establishes the Tasks, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities expected of this position.
* This position is designated as Essential Personnel and may be subject to duty in preparation for a state emergency or disaster declaration. This designation will not exceed 14 calendar days per year unless otherwise approved in advance by the TAG.
* Conducts travel to and from offsite worksite(s) from the normal work area to perform assigned duties. This may include Operating Locations (OL) and GSUs. Due to distances involved, travel may involve one or more overnight stays.
* Maintains required information assurance certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M, Federal Information Security Management Act of 2002, Clinger Cohen Act of 1996, and current AF directives. Qualifications GENERAL EXPERINECE:
Must have Graduate Education with

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
