The QC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and continuously improving quality control programs, inspection processes, and testing activities within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures products meet established quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations while supporting operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and maintain quality control systems, procedures, and inspection standards across all stages of production.
- Develop, review, and analyze quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Establish inspection methods and acceptance criteria to ensure consistent product quality.
- Partner with production and operations leadership to align quality objectives with manufacturing processes and cost goals.
- Communicate quality expectations and requirements to management, inspectors, and hourly personnel.
- Ensure all NDT equipment, laboratory tools, and testing devices are properly maintained, verified, and calibrated according to schedule.
- Perform or oversee chemical and mechanical testing as needed.
- Coordinate training programs to ensure the workforce meets quality procedures and standards.
- Provide direct training and mentorship to quality inspectors.
- Supervise inspection and testing personnel to maintain effective control over materials, facilities, and finished products.
- Support investigation and resolution of quality claims, complaints, and nonconformances.
- Coordinate and oversee third-party inspection activities, including scheduling and verification of work performed.
- Assist customers with technical quality-related inquiries when required.
- Conduct internal and external failure analysis and drive corrective actions.
- Promote a safe and organized work environment through enforcement of safety policies and housekeeping standards.
- Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned.
- Develop and lead a high-performing quality team with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement.
- Review, approve, and manage employee time records and schedules.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Solid understanding of quality systems, inspection processes, and manufacturing operations.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Mechanical testing laboratory experience preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems, including SAP, preferred
