Position: Relationship Banker I - Athens AL Main Branch

Job Description

The Relationship Banker I is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience in the bank’s cash line and over the phone, and for enhancing the financial wellness of our customers. The role involves processing transactions, resolving end‑to‑end customer service inquiries, building customer relationships, and contributing to branch goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide a consistent optimal customer experience on the cash line while handling transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other teller transactions.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding products and services and fulfill basic servicing requests such as new/replacement cards, information changes, PIN resets, reordering checks, and basic problem resolution.
  • Develop relationships with customers and remain well‑informed about their relationships with the bank.
  • Educate customers on standard consumer products and digital solutions such as mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
  • Assist branch and fellow team members with basic tasks to aid in customer problem resolution.
  • Refer customers to an internal team of experts when more complex financial goals and needs are recognized.
  • Follow all bank processes and procedures and adhere to applicable laws and regulations, including completing duties delegated and assigned by the Branch Manager and managing, identifying, and reporting operational risks.
  • Achieve branch targets and goals by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate guidance and perspective about Regions’ solutions.
  • May conduct outbound phone calls using generated customer and prospect lead lists to educate customers on emerging technology and assist with meeting financial needs.

This position requires time tracking for hours worked in excess of 40 per week and is eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act. It is incentive eligible.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
  • Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
  • Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and through electronic channels.
  • Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and sustained attention to a monitor.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Preferences

  • One year of banking, cash‑handling, and/or customer service experience.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to oversee large sums of cash.
  • Strong customer focus and relationship‑building skills.

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point‑of‑market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors directly impacting pay include experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and performance in the job role. Pay will vary among associates within the same job.

Job Range Target:

Minimum: $39,601.10 USD

Median: $46,880.00 USD

Incentive Play:
Eligible to participate in a formulaic incentive plan, allowing employees to earn incentives based on performance against defined metrics and goals.
