Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Athens, Alabama

Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate clear communication by interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa, helping to ensure equal access for students throughout the school day. • High school diploma or equivalent required
• Hold a current license or permit issued by the Alabama Licensure Board for Interpreters and Translators (ALBIT)
• Proven ability to interpret fluently between spoken English and ASL
• Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative spirit
• Previous experience interpreting in school or educational settings preferred

• Deliver high-quality, accurate interpreting services for students in classrooms and school activities
• Support classroom learning for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students by bridging communication with teachers and peers
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and interpreter code of ethics
• Collaborate with educational staff for student success
