Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in industrial development activities within the plant, focusing on production methods, industrialization, equipment and tooling procurement, and long-term planning. This role requires close collaboration with plant teams, program teams, experts, and equipment suppliers to define and implement efficient industrial solutions. The Manufacturing Engineer contributes to the plant's industrial footprint, layout, and trials while promoting continuous improvement, data-driven decision making, and strong health, safety, and ergonomic standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute actively to all industrial development work packages at the plant, including industrial footprint definition, equipment selection (new, reuse, or shared), plant layout, MIFD/MIFA activities, and industrial trials.
  • Support the head of Industrial Development in defining and implementing industrial development strategies and support activities within the plant.
  • Participate in activities that ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance and ergonomic convergence in the plant.
  • Work functionally within the plant and program team to support production, methods, and industrialization initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with the business unit program team, plant personnel, experts (AME team), equipment suppliers, and other stakeholders to align industrial development activities with program objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using fact- and data-based approaches and shopfloor (gemba) observations to enhance processes and industrial performance.
  • Contribute to process engineering and process improvement projects to optimize production efficiency, quality, and reliability.
  • Manage and support equipment and tooling procurement, including specification, selection, and coordination with suppliers.
  • Apply long-term planning and structured problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Interpret and analyze technical procedures, customer specifications, and program requirements to translate them into robust industrial solutions.
  • Create comprehensive project plans and timelines based on input from other team members, ensuring clarity of objectives and deliverables.
  • Understand task dependencies and assess how each task may impact overall project timing, adjusting plans as needed to maintain schedules.
  • Interact effectively with team members and customers at all levels, promoting collaboration and clear communication throughout the organization.
  • Promote collaboration with internal and external customers to ensure alignment on industrial development activities and project outcomes.
  • Use 4C methodology or similar structured approaches for problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, project documentation, analyses, and presentations.
  • Maintain an independent and organized work style, managing time effectively and prioritizing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

Essential

Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • At least 5 years of experience in production, including methods and industrialization.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a plant environment and within a program team structure.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with business unit program teams, plant personnel, experts, equipment suppliers, and customers.
  • Demonstrated open-mindedness and commitment to continuous improvement, with a fact- and data-driven mindset and strong shopfloor (gemba) orientation.
  • Familiarity with financial aspects of programs, including cost estimation, profit and loss (P&L), and investments.
  • Experience in equipment and tooling procurement, including specification and supplier coordination.
  • Long-term planning capabilities and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact and build collaborative relationships with team members and customers at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in structured problem solving using 4C methodology.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze technical procedures and customer specifications.
  • Independent and organized work style, with strong time management and task prioritization skills.
  • Ability to create detailed project plans and timelines based on team input.
  • Ability to understand task dependencies and evaluate their potential impact on project timing.
  • Technical experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, project management, industrialization, and process improvements.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to industrial development activities such as industrial footprint definition, plant equipment selection, plant layout, and industrial trials.
  • Understanding of MIFD/MIFA methodologies and their application in industrial development.
