About the College/Unit/Department:
Part of the Division of Student Affairs, University Housing consists of nearly 2.8 million square feet of facilities and is home to more than 9,000 students. The department employs 220 full-time staff members, 21 graduate assistants and 565 undergraduate student workers. As a self-supporting auxiliary, University Housing operates a $59 million budget derived from student housing fees and other non-state sources.
The mission focuses on training and engagement to support residents’ well-being.

- Act as comprehensive support for participants, guests, and group sponsors throughout summer conferences.
- Serve in an on-call duty rotation to manage maintenance/facilities concerns, check-ins/outs, building keys, access cards, and inventory management of linens and other conference resources.
- Conduct thorough room and building inspections before arrival and after departure, reporting issues identified.
- Collaborate in the preparation of check-in materials for assigned conference and orientation groups, including key packets and access cards.
- Configure common spaces and lobbies to facilitate check-ins and checkouts and additional reservations.
- Facilitate prompt and efficient check-ins and checkouts for conference services.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Star Rez and Microsoft Office applications (Teams, One Note, Excel) after training.
- Communicate issues related to participant stays with stakeholders to ensure a successful guest experience.
- Work community desk shifts within conference residence halls to support weekly operations.
- Multitask and prioritize responsibilities to meet deadlines, work collaboratively, and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
- Enrolled at least half-time at the University of Georgia for the upcoming fall semester.
- Be in good standing with the Office of Student Conduct.
- Temporary employee status with standard eligibility and separation terms.
- Abide by all University of Georgia and University Housing policies and regulations.
- May not exceed 6 consecutive hours of work per shift.
- Dates of employment:
May 11 – August 2 - Dates of in-person training and building preparation:
May 11 – May 23 - Respond to all on-call requests for conference services after 5:00pm and before 9:00am, plus 24 hours on weekends/holidays.
- Work up to 40 hours per week (or up to 20 hours per week if enrolled in classes).
- May not hold dual employment within the university during summer terms; student employees may not have another student position when employed with University Housing.
- Live on campus (single room provided) and participate in on-call rotation.
