Employment type:
Temporary, hourly, professional, FLSA Non-Exempt. Salary: $16.83 - $20.19 per hour.
Hours:
up to 40 per week.

Athens Area.
Temporary position working up to 40 hours per week as needed. This role supports fiscal management of assigned accounts. Duties/Responsibilities are categorized as follows:
Financial Transaction Processing (40%)- Enter and process financial transactions such as invoices, sub‑awards, contracts, and operating expenditures into Quick Books and other university systems.
- Assist with preparation of standard financial documents and ensure completeness of supporting documentation.
- Review transactions for accuracy and completeness prior to submission for supervisory approval.
- Maintain electronic and/or physical financial records in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with account reconciliation by compiling data and identifying discrepancies for review by the Business Manager.
- Ensure documentation is properly filed and accessible for reporting and audit purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of routine financial reports by compiling and organizing data.
- Support business managers and staff with document preparation and tracking of financial activities.
- Respond to routine internal inquiries and direct more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Provide timely and professional support to internal stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding transaction status and documentation needs.
- Assist with cross‑training efforts and support team workflow as needed.
- Participate in training to build knowledge of financial systems and processes.
- Assist with special projects or process improvements as assigned.
- Support departmental needs during peak periods or staff absences.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to work well with others and independently on projects.
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and record‑keeping.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and ability to interpret One Source reports.
- Physical ability to sit, work on a computer for long periods, pick up and move file boxes up to 25 lbs, maneuver between buildings, and drive as needed.
